Job Summary: |
Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA), State Procurement Office (SPO) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) to lead and oversee all procurement activities at The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS). This critical role involves managing a team of senior-level managers and procurement professionals, ensuring efficient and compliant purchasing and solicitation processes. The CPO will play a key role in strategic planning, organizational capacity building, and serve as the procurement subject matter expert for DPS executive leadership. Job Duties: |
- Act as agency Chief Procurement Officer to ensure procurement activities are conducted in an ethical manner with a high level of integrity, while also ensuring compliance to the Arizona Procurement Code
- Establish and enforce applicable agency procurement policies and procedures
- Issue formal decisions in protests and contracts claims
- Represent department at formal procurement related hearings (as authorized by applicable department legal personnel)
- Train and instruct agency and procurement leadership on matters regarding procurement
- Establish, monitor, and report key performance indicators

- Federal and State laws and statutes governing contractual agreements
- Procurement practices, processes, and procedures

Selective Preference(s): |
- BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business Management, Finance, or similar field
- Previous State or other public procurement experience
- Previous experience with a protective services agency or related organization
