Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Human Resources (HR) Liaison for South Region which encompasses over 600 positions, this position provides support and assistance with day-to-day HR administrative tasks in the areas of position control, recruitment, classification/compensation and operations. In addition, this position responds to personnel related questions from region staff and provides guidance to field office liaisons.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
  • HR Operations - Completes and/or reviews Personnel Action Transmittal (PAT) forms for new hires, promotions, transfers, etc. and submits to HR Operations. Assists HR Liaison with region position control maintenance. Works with supervisors/managers to ensure employee performance evaluations are completed timely.
  • Tracks all candidates through the hiring process. Receives hiring packets from field liaisons and verifies accuracy of information. Ensures all phases of the hiring process are completed including references, file reviews, etc. and provides completed packets to HR Liaisons for job offer.
  • Classification and Compensation - prepares and submits classification and compensation action requests such as position description updates, position establishments, reallocations, organizational changes, etc.
  • Prepares a variety of reports and correspondence. Schedules meetings and prepares materials. Maintains databases for tracking HR related information. Updates monthly regional organizational charts.
  • Supports the DCS Management System by participating in team huddle meetings and tracks data and metrics for area of responsibility. Acts in the absence of the region HR Liaison.
  • Other duties as assigned as related to the position.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • General human resources practices and procedures
  • Arizona Department of Administration Personnel Rules, policies, and procedures
  • HR Systems - Talent Acquisition (T/A) and Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint
  • Department of Child Safety (DCS) policies and procedures

Must be able to secure and maintain clearance from DCS Central Registry.

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements.
