Job Summary:

This position reports directly to the Accounting Supervisor I and is the primary position responsible for processing payroll for the ICA. The successful candidate will utilizes various state and ICA systems to perform research, analyze data, perform reconciliations, and identify and report inconsistencies and errors. They will also Assist with several seasonal activities, including physical inventory, processing annual tax filings, and reviewing self-insurance applications.

This position is for ICA employees only.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Use automated accounting systems and other agency applications to retrieve data; analyze information; track encumbrances, revenues and expenditures; perform daily, weekly and monthly financial reconciliations; and, identify and report inconsistencies and errors.

Analyze and approve Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable fiscal transactions. Verify the propriety of supporting documents, and transaction data entered into APP and AZ360. Track operating metrics and report results at the daily operations huddle.

Process ICA's payroll for up to 225 authorized FTE's. Time and attendance records distribution to divisions. Collect data, audit/code and attendance reports and exceptions; research and resolve payroll discrepancies. Flag and compute for payroll entry: LWOP, FMLA, FLSA compensatory/OT, industrial injury calculations for leave, compute and process donation of annual leave. Process supplemental payroll and hand-writes. Respond to inquiries from management, research, and resolves discrepancies / problems.

Assist with the annual asset physical inventory.

Selective Preference(s):

A minimum of 5 years years work experience as an Accounting Specialist or Accountant I, or equivalent experience or education.

Retirement:

You will be eligible to participate in the state employee health/disability insurance plan, and you are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). ASRS participation may begin immediately or upon your 27th week of employment. Contributions are matched by the employer.
