Job Summary: |
This position performs highly responsible tasks supervising a portion of the State's Occupational Safety and Health Program; evaluates public and private employer's establishments for conditions of compliance of the State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health standards, regulations, laws, rules, and codes; oversees all partnerships activities with regard to developing, scheduling, and maintaining active collaboration with them through visits and training; oversees a portion of the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) that includes general industry and construction settings as well as onsite audits with teams of ADOSH staff or Special Government Employees (SGEs).
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties: |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Supervisors and evaluates staff of the Compliance Assistance Section in the office and the field.
● Tracks productivity to ensure assigned personnel work products meet ADOSH quality and production standards.
● Conducts division orientation and position training for new hires and completes annual evaluations.
● Completes on-site reviews of Partnerships, Public Entity Visits, and Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star on-site reviews.
● Visits partnership sites and coordinates with Special Government Employees for on-site reviews.
● Drafts and submits Compliance Assistance Specialist Reports to employers and works with them to abate hazards.
● Provide VPP sites with full reports.
● Reviews and approves Compliance Assistance Specialist reports for completeness and accuracy.
● Answer and follow through on questions from internal and external customers.
● Attend, contribute and offer solutions to the Arizona Management System in place for the Compliance Assistance Specialist section.
● Interviews applicants for vacant positions and participates on peer interview panels to hire candidates for vacant positions.

Selective Preference(s): |
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
BS in a related Safety and/or Health field from an accredited college or university; or 6 yrs. of work-related safety experience in the following General Industry settings, Construction Industry, and Agriculture Industry where reports were drafted as a result of walk around audits of said industry. Five years of supervisory experience.
Pre-Employment Requirements: |
Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
