The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation &Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking to fill the Systems/Network Manager position. This position is responsible for supervising and the design, installation, modification, maintenance and management of Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) environments throughout the state.
Job Duties: |
- Provides effective recommendations concerning LAN/WAN strategies, system acquisitions, enhancements and upgrades
- Analyzes and resolves complicated operating problems to optimize network performance
- Supervises and evaluates staff and addresses various personnel issues
- Designs, installs, configures, tests and monitors various types of operating systems and hardware for departmental and multi-departmental LAN/WAN systems, including the internet
- Conducts diagnostic tests on hardware, cabling and software
- Adds, changes, and deletes users and services on the network
- Ensures and controls systems security
- Prepares implementation plans, systems administration and user documentation
- Trains Department users and provides technical assistance as needed
- Attends meetings, prepares reports and documentation, and develops technical implementation plans
- Attends training classes, seminars and keeps abreast of current industry trends
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Selective Preference(s): |
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Business
- Two (2) or more certifications in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or CompTia Network+ certification
- Five (5) years of experience working in an IT environment
Pre-Employment Requirements: |
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation, drug test, and possibly a medical/physical examination.
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.
