Job Summary:

Lead, Train & Oversee Print Production!

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a dedicated professional to manage operations at our Perryville Graphics/Print Shop Unit. This role involves supervising and training an inmate workforce in print production, including setup, maintenance, and operation of presses, cutters, and folders. You’ll also coordinate with vendors, customers, and internal teams to ensure quality and efficiency.

Job Duties:

- Supervises and trains an inmate workforce in the assigned manufacturing center
- Communicates with customers and vendors to ensure proper specifications and dimensions; communicates with Quality Assurance Department to ensure compliance with policies; communicates with Operations Control and other manufacturing departments
- Prepares reports and cost estimates as required by management
- Maintains daily attendance and work assignments roster, bimonthly inmate payroll, and monthly evaluations
- Monitors and controls inventory levels, requisition of raw materials and supplies
- Attends staff training and meetings
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
- Materials used in offset printing
- Management and supervision techniques
- Operations and maintenance of sheets and web presses, cutters, and folders

Skill in:
- Verbal and written communication
- Safety standards/regulations
- Operations and maintenance of equipment and machinery utilized
- Security requirements and practices
- Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships

Ability to:
- Work in a prison environment
- Train, direct, supervise, and evaluate inmate workers
- Use a personal computer and associated software applications
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.

Selective Preference(s):

- On-the-job experience utilizing and operating sheet and web presses, cutters, and folders

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.
