Job Summary:

The IT Project Manager will mange multiple small to medium sized projects. Will be responsible for all aspects of information technology projects including planning, creating detailed schedules, gathering and documenting business requirements, testing, training and managing budgets. Ensures projects meet policies and requirements set by ADOA/ASET, ADOHS, SPO and other oversight entities and stakeholders. Monitor and track project milestones and deliverables. Write and maintain user processes, system documentation and reports. Conduct end user training and support. Effectively communicating with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (1 days per week in the office/hoteling). Position may need to travel to Arizona State Parks.

Job Duties:

- Leads planning and implementation of projects while ensuring adherence to budget, schedule and scope.
- Develop and maintain project plans - Monitor or track project milestones and deliverables.
- Gathers and documents project and business requirements and use cases.
- Develops and executes comprehensive system test plans, conditions, test scripts, and test cases.
- Creates and delivers related project and user documentation and end-user training.
- Proactively and routinely identifies, mitigates and reports project risks and issues.
- Other duties as assigned as related to the position

  • May provide application and computer operations support. May assist with troubleshooting production problems and recommends/implements solutions.
  • Will require work outside main office hours for operations support and project work such as go live and maintenance.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
· Working knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management and business analysis
· Working knowledge of the State of Arizona’s ADOA/ASET, ADOHS’s and SPO’s policies, programs and requirements
· Proficiency with Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
· Working knowledge of developing and executing training, testing and operationalization plans
· General understanding of information technology, including networks, firewalls, databases, computers, application development, data management and security.

Skill:
· Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
· Strong IT project management skills
· Demonstrated ability to develop detailed IT project plans
· Ability to work collaboratively in teams and across organizations
· Demonstrated ability to synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly
· Proficiency in evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, consolidate details and extract to user requirements
· Effectively translate user, stakeholders and oversight agencies requirements into business, functional and test scenarios
· Demonstrated ability to develop and write user documentation.

Ability:
· Ability to balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple IT projects and tasks
· Demonstrated ability to develop and write testing, training and user documentation
· Demonstrated ability in leading project team(s)
· Ability to work with minimal guidance; regularly participates in reviews of assigned and completed tasks.
· Ability to prioritizes and plans work activities; sets goals and objectives; uses time efficiently
· Ability to communicate project status, activities and results

Selective Preference(s):

- Must possess and maintain a current Arizona Driver's license appropriate to assignment.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree plus 4 or more years of experience in IT project and management (or equivalent experience)
· Project Management Professional (PMP) - Project Management Certification (PMI) preferred

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements.

Retirement:

Eligible for Arizona State Retirement System pension. Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment for newly hired State of Arizona employees.
