Job Summary: |
The Arizona Department of Agriculture is recruiting for a detailed orientated and dependable Administrative Services Officer 2 for our Animal Services Division. The position is located in downtown Phoenix around the Capital Mall and requires the employee to work in the office.
The Administrative Services Officer 2 works under the direction of the Associate Director for the Animal Services Division. This position plays a critical role in fiscal administration, project management, and the development and management of the annual divisional budget and expenditures.
Job Duties: |
Duties to include but not limited to:
• Directs centralized administrative services including budgetary, accounting, purchasing, payroll, and other administrative staff functions.
• Supervises the (ASO I / Self Inspection Manager, Dispatch and other administrative personnel in (ASD).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
Knowledge of:
Principles and practices of administration with special reference to organization, fiscal management, budgetary control and general administrative services; planning, control and supervision.
Skill in:
Effective written and oral professional and interpersonal communication.
Developing and maintaining professional and interpersonal relationships with management and leadership of the agency
Use of analytical reasoning principles.
Efficient use of MS Windows, Office software, Excel, Google Suites, AFIS, and the ADA budget Tracking System.
Organizational skills.
Arizona Procurement, APP, AFIS, and HRIS.
Ability to:
Use independent judgment, initiative and discretion in making decisions for staff direction in absence of ASD Associate Director.
Plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple projects in unison and to change priorities at a moments notice.
Work independently, set priorities, and manage multiple tasks within a dynamic work environment.
Ability to anticipate, decide and resolve potential problems.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Selective Preference(s): |
Three years responsible administrative experience equivalent to or above the Administrative Assistant III level in such fields as personnel, budget analysis, purchasing, accounting, data processing or related administrative services work; a Master's degree in business or public administration from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the required experience.

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Mandatory condition of Employment for all employees who meet the eligibility and membership criteria defined in statue. Current contribution rate is 12.27%. Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
