Job Summary: |
The .Net Applications Support Developer, Senior (.NET Support Team) supports, analyzes, and troubleshoots .Net-based applications, which are responsible for Arizona Department of Revenue systems. As part of the .Net Support Team, this role will be responsible for the support design and report development of client and/or server solutions in order to meet required business needs.
Supervision:
This position does not have direct reports.
This position may be available for remote work within Arizona.

Job Duties: |
Application Development
- Develop new applications and/or functionality to meet defined requirements and technical designs
- Create deliverables according to the Software Development Life-Cycle
Application Support
- Analyze and resolve application problems, bugs, and/or defects in a timely manner
- Resolve end-user service requests
- Propose solutions and communicate those to peers and clients
- Conducts performance tuning, reviews, and application testing
- Reviews and recommend improvements to existing code
- Provides development support to applications in order to meet functional and technical design needs
- Provides support to Senior Applications Developers’ tasks and projects
Business Engagement
- Work with business analysts and stakeholders to understand application functional requirements
- Contributes to the completion of technical projects and specifications by documenting, decimating, and executing technical project plans discussed and decided upon with business analysts and stakeholders
Agency/Department Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Remains current on all laws, regulations, policies, and best practices related to taxation through regular engagement in activities such as: self-directed research, conferring with other practitioners and technical experts; subscriptions to regulatory/legal/industry newsletters and briefs; membership industry associations and attendance at meetings/events; and or participation in training and others continuing education opportunities.
- Actively contributes to team and individual effectiveness through the following: -
- Attends staff meetings and huddles of work unit or district; and may cascade and track information as indicated
- Completes all required training in a timely manner.
- Participates in assigned work teams as appropriate.
- May complete periodic metrics, projects, huddle boards and reports as requested.
- Prepares for and actively participates in 1:1 coaching with supervisor
- Maximizes work processes and deliverables through lean principles within the Arizona Management System (AMS); and provides recommendations for process improvement, and engages in continuous improvement efforts as assigned.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (e.g., B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of five years programming experience, at least three of which in development
- Previous experience designing and developing client/server solutions

- Proficiency in the use of MS Visual Studio, .NET Core, .NET Framework, C Sharp (C#), Entity Framework, T-SQL Programing, Java Script, Windows Communication Foundation, ASP.NET, MVC Pattern, REST principles, Dependency Injection, ADO.NET, Unit Testing, Complex XML Schema Definitions, AzureDevOps and/or TFS
Abilities
- Ability to clear a comprehensive background and clearance process that includes an Arizona tax compliance verification, and a criminal background check through the FBI via level one fingerprint clearance through the Arizona Department of Public Safety
- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and also participate collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to understand and solve problems by applying intermediate analytical skills to include collecting all the relevant information and data needed to address the problem; organizing, classifying and synthesizing the data into fundamental issues; from the information, identifying the most probable causes of the problem; reducing the information down into manageable components; identifying the logical outcomes from the analyses of the data collected; and, identifying the options and solutions for addressing the problems analyzed.

- In the course of performing the essential duties one must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Selective Preference(s): |
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
