The Department of Economic Security, Division of Technology Services (DTS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Applications Developer Senior/Lead (MuleSoft Developer). This position will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining MuleSoft integration solutions using Anypoint platform. It includes developing APls, designing integration flows, designing integration flows while ensuring the security, scalability, and performance of applications.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-Develops new applications to meet functional and technical designs. Fixes and develop changes to applications to meet functional and technical designs following best practices and development standards and guidelines. Develop RAML specifications, configure API gateways.
-Engages with business analysts and stakeholders to understand functional requirements and contributes to completion of functional specifications.
-Creates deliverables according to the Software Development Lifecycle such as functional and technical specifications, uses cases, test cases, and system documentation. Prepares technical documentation on application specifications.
-Performance tunes, reviews and recommends improvements to existing codes. Reviews and recommends improvements to existing architectures.
-Supports production systems; analyzes and resolves production problems in a timely manner; resolves end user service requests as assigned. Work to analyze, debug and resolve defects in applications.
-Assist in interviewing and training new hires and provide guidance to Junior Developers when needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

-Knowledge of:

-Multiple programming languages, multiple database management systems, multiple development platforms and systems integration.
-Mule ESB, Anypoint Studio, API Manager and other platform component
-CI/CD pipelines using AZURE DEVOPS
-Integration patterns (message queue, event driven architecture)
-Various integration patterns (e.g., message queues, event-driven architectures).
-JSON, XML, and other data formats.

Skill in:

-Anypoint Studio, CloudHub, and other platform components.
-DataWeave to transform data.
-Batch processing and handling large volumes of data.
-Monitoring and optimizing MuleSoft application performance.
-Writing and executing unit tests using MUnit

Ability to:

-Develop and write technical documentation and to evaluate and test emerging technologies
-Apply creative solutions to business problems to ensure business needs are most effectively met
-Quickly learn and develop in new programming languages, APIs and platforms
-Develop and write technical documentation
-Build strong relationships inside and outside the organization and balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks
-Synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly and work collaboratively in teams and across organizations

Selective Preference(s):

Experience with Mulesoft Anypoint studio and Cloud Hub highly desired.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Bachelor's degree plus 8 or more years of programming and analysis experience or equivalent experience.

Employee shall obtain and maintain a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1969.

Retirement:

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
