Job Summary: |
This position oversees the Equipment Services Fleet Management, Get Ready, purchasing, placement, and disposal of the ADOT and 52 different agencies within the Enterprise State fleet. Serves as a lead ADOT fleet representative on the Governor's Fleet Council.

Job Duties: |
Responsible for procuring, up-fitting, and the disposal of both ADOT and Enterprise fleet vehicles and equipment totaling 8,000 plus vehicles and specialized equipment units. Manages the combined annual Equipment Replacement Budget for ADOT and Enterprise fleets estimated to be $35M; Manages the state's vehicle and equipment disposal operations consisting of selling over 400 assets annually.
Develops policy and administers administrative procedures and operational oversight for fleet management functions pertaining to the processing of vehicle and equipment requests, manages all acquisition/procurement activities, reviews post delivery vehicle/equipment inspection requirements, manages vehicle up-fitting and out-fitting, assignments, oversees vehicle utilization/replacement for all State vehicles/equipment.
Direct and oversee the development of complex technical equipment specifications, engineered drawings and procurement contracts. Ensure all equipment purchases meet customer requirements and align with State Procurement, Federal rules and regulations.
Prepares equipment replacement budgets and coordinates expenditures with agency procurement and budget office staff. Compiles, develops and submits the Equipment Services annual fleet replacement budget information that includes utilization, maintenance costs and replacement models/projections.
Monitors rental rates and chargeback policies to ensure statute compliance for the recovery of all costs associated with operation, maintenance, modifications, organizational overhead. Works on special projects when requested by the Equipment Services Administrator for specialized vehicles and equipment within the ADOT mobile fleet.

Selective Preference(s): |
Ten (10) years related progressive experience in Fleet Management/Operations within a large and equipment diverse public fleet environment. Certification in Fleet Management e.g. Certified Automotive Fleet Manager program (CAFM) is highly desirable.

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
