Job Summary: |
The Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC) is seeking a qualified individual to check daily arrivals for future release dates, and completes appropriate forms, checks, and maintains a tentative release list to ensure inmates are released as mandated by law and Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) policy at the Arizona State Prison Complex - Tucson.

Job Duties: |
- Verifies release eligibility in accordance with applicable policies and procedures to offender release
- Processes release paperwork
- Notifies appropriate authorities with pending release dates
- Arranges transportation to approved placement
- Coordinates Parole hearings and processes documents
- Processes Sex Offender Registration and notification forms in cooperation with the Arizona Department of Public Safety and Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC) Sex Offender Coordination Unit
- Processes commitment paperwork for the Arizona State Hospital as necessary
- Responds to inquiries from staff and agencies regarding inmate records and the application of sentencing and release legibility
- Reviews, verifies, and enters data with ACIS system to determine accuracy, isolate and define problems
- Corrects inaccurate data to ensure ACIS is able to use correct methodology for time computation
- Analyze and interpret court orders, documents, and commitments to ensure legally and accuracy as it pertains to inmate sentence in order to accept commitment to the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry
- Processes ICE Detainers and prepare inmates for pick up by ICE
- Attends staff meetings and all mandatory trainings and perform other duties appropriate to the assignment
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
Knowledge of:
- Policy and procedures governing inmate release, detainers and warrants
- Work management, leadership and training practices and procedures
- Business English, grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Computers using various software programs (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Interpreting court documentation and legal terminology
- Basic to complex mathematical calculations
Skill in:
- Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC) policies and procedures as it applies to offender time computation
- Interpreting and analyzing court legal documents and understand legal terminology
- Written and verbal communication
- Customer service
- Attention to detail
- Building and maintaining interpersonal relationships
- Operation and use of ACIS
- Normal office practices
Ability to:
- Work in a prison environment

Selective Preference(s): |
- Experience interpreting court documents and legal terminology
- Experience with AIMS is also preferred

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test*.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
