The Department of Economic Security is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Storekeeper with the responsibility to interpret State and Federal regulations and educate warehouse workers on established policies and procedures. The Storekeeper is authorized to assist with record-keeping, accurately prepare purchase orders, requisitions, necessary supplies, materials, and equipment to ensure items are adequately and correctly stocked in bins and shelves. This position receives inventories and distributes a wide variety of materials, supplies, and equipment; unloads delivery trucks; verifies incoming items for quality and quantity, palletized, storage, and timely delivery.
The work performed for this position will be on-site in a warehouse setting.
Job Duties: |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Manage all official records.
● Monitor and maintain stock levels of items; ensure items are ordered, received, stored, and inventoried, and distribute a wide variety of materials, supplies, and equipment.
● Establishes minimum stock levels and reorder points, accepts or rejects deliveries of supplies, materials, and equipment.
● Participate in the coordination and delivery of supply items, pick up of records boxes and actual pick up and disposal of surplus from DES locations statewide to include screening equipment on-site for reallocation, transfers, or destruction.
● Performs computer support duties, complying with general guidelines, including operating a standard computer and office equipment and peripherals.
● Preparing standard reports, indexing and filing physical and electronic documents.
● Document all actions on logs, records and forms.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
Knowledge of:
● Storekeeping practices.
● Shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
● Basic recordkeeping and report preparation.
Skills in:
● Operating specialized store/warehouse equipment, including a forklift and manual/ electric pallet jacks.
● Time management.
● Electronic file management.
● Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Adobe and Google.
Ability to:
● Plan, coordinate, analyze, and establish priorities.
● Work independently and make determinations based on established guidelines.
● Professionally respond to colleagues and customers.
● Check incoming/outgoing items against appropriate shipping/receiving documents.
● Lift and move heavy items manually; and receive, store, inventory, and distribute a variety of supplies, materials, and equipment.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
● Warehouse experience.

● If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license
must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
● Successfully pass background and reference check; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the Agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
● All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
● Requires the ability to pass a post-offer physical exam.

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period.
