Our agency is committed to promoting public safety by providing effective evidence-based rehabilitation for young people with multiple needs, including mental health and medical care. This includes providing developmentally appropriate treatment, pro-social activities, and education and career training. Through collaboration with various partners, we ensure continuity of these services for young people as they transition back to their communities. The ADJC monitors the various outcomes and impacts of these services, including reductions in recidivism. Come Join the DES Team! The Department of Economic Security is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Financial Analyst 1. This position is responsible for all forecasting, analysis, Federal reporting, and monitoring of assigned programs, which includes preparing a variety of fiscal and operating reports that may involve detailed analysis of financial outlooks, spending trends, staffing levels, and other comprehensive analyses; identifying, researching, and analyzing possible impacts of proposed legislation and funding modification; and preparing formal bill analyses, as well as cost-benefit and break-even analyses. Additionally, this position provides financial expertise to Department and programmatic leadership, and external partners, such as the Governor's Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting (OSPB) and the Joint Legislative Budget Committee (JLBC) on financial budget matters pertaining to assigned programs, including budget, cash management, reconciliation, compliance with state and federal regulations, federal reports, forecasts, and monitoring for assigned programs. This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (two days per week in office/hoteling). The State of Arizona strives for a work culture that affords employees flexibility, autonomy, and trust. Across our many agencies, boards, and commissions, many State employees participate in the State’s Remote Work Program and are able to work remotely in their homes, in offices, and in hoteling spaces. All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.
