Job Summary: |
• This position will process program applications to check if applicants meet the eligibility requirements and guide them through the application process.
• Rare in-state travel may be required for this position.
Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office five days per week as business needs necessitate.
Job Duties: |
• Process program applications to determine eligibility and provide support to applicants throughout the application process.
• Communicate program details and requirements primarily through phone and email, with some in-person contact. Respond to help desk tickets and assist at the call center/help desk
• Communicate program requirements, laws, policies, and guidelines to program participants, applicants, and stakeholders
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
Knowledge in:
• Application processing, program eligibility review and account renewal processes
• Basic administrative procedures and systems such as managing files, records, office procedures and terminology
• Customer service principles and practices
Skills in:
• Excellent organizational, planning, research, reporting and time management
• Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with supervisors, peers, and customers
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong problem-solving
• Multitask and prioritize a variety of demands and projects effectively
• Intermediate skill in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Ability to:
• Clearly communicate legislative guidelines, program policies to external stakeholders
• Maintain excellent working knowledge of department policies and procedures
• Effectively guide and support program applicants through the application process
• Comply and ensure compliance with state laws, policies, and guidelines
• Manage and maintain program accounts accurately and efficiently
• Maintain and protect confidential files
• Accept directions and feedback from ESA Management and follow through appropriately
Selective Preference(s): |
Preference will be given to those applicants with an
• Associate’s degree or higher
• Knowledge of the ESA program (statutes, rules, and regulations)
• Bilingual
• Familiarity with financial management and accounting principles

Retirement: |
You will be required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) upon your 27th week of employment, subject to waiting period. On or shortly after, your first day of employment you will be provided with enrollment instructions and effective date.
