Job Summary: |
This position:
• Is responsible for the fiscal components of all Local Education Agencies (LEA) grants in the Grants Management Enterprise system. This includes processing Reimbursement Requests, Completion Reports, Completion Report Revisions, Refunds, Holds, and Interest;
• Monitors eligibility and compliance components of Maintenance of Effort (MOE) for LEAs;
• Provides technical assistance to LEAs who are not meeting Eligibility or Compliance; and
• Acts as liaison between Grants Management and LEAs to provide fiscal support for all of their grants.
• Occasional in-state and rare out-of-state travel is/may be required for this position.
The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.
Job Duties: |
• Process LEA Reimbursement Requests, Completion Reports, and Indirect Cost Requests and offer targeted assistance to LEAs;
• Monitor eligibility and compliance components of Maintenance of Effort (MOE) for LEAs;
• Fiscal review of payments and other LEA fiscal reports;
• Place and Remove Fiscal Holds (Programmatic, Global, etc.);
• Reconcile LEA Fiscal Data (expenditures, encumbrances, reimbursements, etc.)
• Provide general fiscal support to LEAs for all of their grants
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
Knowledge in:
• Administration related to planning, organizing, and directing fiscal matters, budgets (preparing and controlling)
• Federal and State Grants
• General business services
• Procurement policies and procedures
• Contract policies and procedures
• Government accounting or general accounting
• Audit policy and procedures
• A Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, statistics, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience to substitute for the degree is required.
Skills in:
• Read and understand financial statements
• Written and verbal communication
• Problem solving and critical analysis
• Relations with employees and the public
• Interpret State Statues and Federal Regulations
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.

• Perform to stated deadlines and to produce expected results with little supervision

Retirement: |
You will be required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) upon your 27th week of employment, subject to waiting period. On or shortly after, your first day of employment you will be provided with enrollment instructions and effective date.
