Job Summary: |
This position is an electrical maintenance position. Maintains all electrical systems on eight Southern Region parks, including the Kartchner cave, campgrounds and all park facilities.
Job Duties: |
- Repair and maintain industrial, commercial and residential electrical systems.
- Install electrical equipment. Perform preventive maintenance of electrical systems.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams of electrical systems.
- Conduct work to NEC standards.
- As part of Construction Services needs. May include plumbing, carpentry, automotive, custodial, taking fees, tram driver.
- Operates motor vehicles, small power tools and equipment. Work from height, using ladders and/or scaffolding, in tight spaces, on back, or overhead. Wears proper PPE.
- Other duties as assigned as related to the position.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
Knowledge of:
Equipment operations.
Lutron and Musco lighting systems.
Fire, security, UPS systems.
Basic use of hand and power tools.
State Parks and Trails Policies and Procedures.
Basic computer usage and web-based applications.
Radios and emergency procedures.
Skill in:
Electrical systems maintenance and repair.
Installation of new/replacement electric powered equipment.
Reading/drawing project blueprint.
Driving, operating automotive equipment.
Oral and written communications.
Public contact and Interpersonal relationships.
Ability to:
Handling visitors complaints, emergency situations and other stressful work environment and large groups of people while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.
Uniformly and consistently interpret and enforce agency and park rules and regulations.
Communicate effectively both written and oral.
Conduct and participate in a wide variety of resource management programs.
Work independently on work assignments as necessary.
Work nights, weekends and holidays.
Work as a member of a team.
Obtain and maintain an Arizona drivers license.
Operate park equipment and power tools safely and effectively.
Work in extreme heat and 99% humidity.
Work at other State Parks, when necessary.
Ability to relocate to another state park seasonally and/or permanently on periodic basis.
Selective Preference(s): |
Experience with electrical systems.
Experience with Natural Resources.
Pre-Employment Requirements: |
Must obtain, possess and maintain a current Arizona Driver’s license appropriate to assignment.
This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements.
