Job Summary: |
The key responsibilities of this position include:
• Interpreting state and federal authorizing legislation, assisting with the grant application process, providing ongoing communication with grantees in the Central Region of the State, and evaluating grant activities and programming;
• Providing technical assistance and monitoring duties as mandated by federal law;
• Conducting on-site visits and compile reports necessary for compliance reviews and the delivery of additional support needed at the assigned program sites; and
• Development and delivery of other technical assistance as part of the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) 21st CCLC team responsibilities for all Arizona 21st CCLC programs, and collaboration on agency-wide initiatives.
• Occasional in-state rare out-of-state travel is required for this position.
The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.
Job Duties: |
• Monitor school efforts by conducting site visits to 21st CCLC grantees and reviewing desktop submissions through ADE online applications (EMAC & AZEDS) and via other means of communication
• Collaborate with other ADE Divisions and Sections involved in providing technical assistance with common school sites and the site effort to improve achievement for students
• Provide Technical Assistance directly to grantees
• Provide technical assistance training for new and ongoing grantees and applicants
• Using the Grant Management Enterprise System, approve or reject revisions, continuing applications, and other GME related activities for grantees

• Federal and state regulations regarding the administration of federal grants, such as the Uniform System for Records (USFR), Educational Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR), Federal Office of Management and Budget Circulars and the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)
• Federal laws and state statutes governing public education and the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA)
• Administering federal grants
• Best practices in after school programs
• School improvement
• Applicants must have taught or administered a 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant or other after school program
• A Bachelor's Degree in education, social work, recreation, or related field, or equivalent experience to substitute for the degree, is required

Selective Preference(s): |
• Preference will be given to those applicants with a Master's Degree in Education, Social Work, Recreation, or a related field
