Job Summary:

The Arizona Lottery is seeking an experienced Director of Finance Administration to join our team. This position works closely with the Arizona Lottery Chief of Staff to manage the financial operations of the agency. This position is responsible for leading and achieving organizational outcomes for the Accounting, Budget, and Procurement teams.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities include:

• Reports to the Chief of Staff and is accountable for all agency financial services and deliverables, including budgeting, financial reporting, financial audits, and compliance with government accounting standards;
• Leads collaboration between the budget, accounting, and procurement staff to ensure alignment on financial goals and activities;
• Facilitates communications regarding financial performance with stakeholders;
• Supervises the Accounting Administrator and leads the agency’s accounting team;
• Performs long-range financial planning and analysis to support the agency's strategic goals;
• Oversees the agency's financial audit and reporting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), statutes, and agency rules;
• Supervises the Budget Manager and oversees the budgeting process for the agency;
• Collaborates in the development and implementation of the agency’s budget strategies and controls;
• Executes budget strategies across the agency, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals and promoting sound fiscal stewardship;
• Oversees budget summaries, memos, reports, and the department's annual budget submission for the agency;
• Supervises the Procurement Officer, and is accountable for developing procurement strategies and implementing vendor management processes;
• Participates in planning and development of high-impact Requests For Information / Requests For Proposals and evaluation of vendor responses;
• Reviews contract amendments to ensure business effectiveness and efficiency;
• Accountable for implementing vendor management and contract compliance processes;
• Directs and supports the implementation of the agency’s lean management efforts within the departments to achieve performance goals and continuous improvement;
• Coaches staff members to adopt and improve lean management principles.
