Job Summary:

This position exists to provide direct supervision of the Whistleblower Manager, the Bureau of Labor Statistics supervisor, Administrative Service Officer, Budget Officer, the Bureau Chief and the Chief Elevator Inspector. The position also provides indirect supervision to the other staff within those sections. Although it does not normally directly supervise, the position can provide supervision for Tucson compliance and consultation staff in the absence of, or requested by the ADOSH Director or Assistant Director of Compliance and/or Consultation. Provides overall direction for the ADOSH Whistleblower program, as well as the Boiler and Elevator safety programs. The position works closely with the ADOSH Administrator, Assistant Administrator(s), ICA Legal Division and Human Resources. Under the guidance of the ADOSH Administrator, this position provides agency-wide support; provides formal and informal training as needed.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Supervisor day to day activities and work production from all assigned units.
● Work with ADOSH Director, management and staff to assess and improve administrative processes and enhance efficiency.
● Coordinate with executive management and other managers to ensure alignment with ADOSH mission, vision, core values, and objectives.
● Track assigned teams/units performance to ensure quality of work is within acceptable levels.
● Oversee updates and changes to the State of Arizona Boiler and Elevator Regulations in order to keep them up date with regular American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and the National Board Inspection Code) new editions every three years, addenda issued every year).
● Promulgate new regulations as dictated by new editions/addenda to national boiler codes.
● Provides regular updates to the ADOSH Assistant Director of Compliance and Consultation as well as the Director on the status and recommendations of each budget.
● Applies principles, theories, and concepts of the Arizona Management System.
● Identifying meaningful group metrics and adjusting as needed.
● Leading all continuous improvement activities.

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
A Bachelors degree in organizational management, public administration or related field from an accredited college or university; or six years of work-related where reports were generated. Prior supervisory experience

Pre-Employment Requirements:

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
