The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Health Services Coordinator. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community.

The position maintains subject matter expertise in best practices for supporting the behavioral needs of the members and is responsible for providing functional behavior assessments and behavioral interventions to Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD/ Division) members residing at Arizona Training Program at Coolidge (ATPC), state operated Intermediate Care Facilities(ICF), state operated Group Homes (GH), and other settings as determined by the Division. The primary focus of the position is developing behavioral treatment plans to address challenging behaviors, developing and monitoring active treatment plans, and evaluating the efficacy of behavioral interventions in relation to ongoing needs of the member. This position ensures relevant behavior data systems are implemented for the purpose of collecting quantifiable behavior data at regular intervals to allow for the continual evaluation of behavior plans and the achievement of member specific goals and objectives. This position is available on-site at ATPC to actively participate in developing and implementing treatment plans using Evidence Based Practices for the purpose of promoting positive behavior change.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Participates in Division Behavioral Health Projects and Initiatives, including but not limited to: task orders, work groups, policy development, the Behavior Analysis benefit, and Behavior Supported Group homes.
• Provides technical assistance and training to Division staff and QV specific to behavior treatment in serving DDD members in a variety of community-based settings.
• Develops, administers, supervises, and evaluates comprehensive behavior programs for Division members residing at ATPC, State Operated GH, and other Division contracted placements. Implement relevant data systems for the purpose of collecting quantifiable behavior data to support continual evaluation of behavior plans and the achievement of member specific goals and objectives.
• Supervising the ATPC Psych associate. Reviewing and approving the ETE timecards, authorizing leave, monitoring performance and completing Performance Appraisals.
• Researches best practices. Establishes and implements policy related to behavior treatment and services to members with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge Of:
• Services and treatment modalities provided to people with developmental disabilities (to include Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Functional Behavior Assessments, Positive Behavior Support, ABA related interventions, and Augmentative Communication systems.
• Theory of human behavior. Research methods.
• Developmental Disabilities and other Co-occurring disorders.
• Medication and other modalities of treatment.
• Supervisory practices and procedures.
Skills In:
• Strong analytical, clinical, and research skills. Strong assessment and organizational skills.
• Effectively educating and training staff in providing behavior interventions. Evaluating and reviewing data in treatment modalities.
• Administering standardized assessment tools and interpreting results. Writing, reviewing, and evaluating treatment goals.
• Evaluating treatment data to assess progress towards goals. Communicating effectively through written, verbal, and visual applications.
• Using computer systems (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, etc.). Working cooperatively with others and leadership.
Ability To:
• Work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team. Apply policy to clinical practice.
• Apply Best Practices in providing treatment and the development of policy.
• Mediate, resolve conflict, and build consensus. Problem solve and make decisions.
• Promote continuous quality improvement and financial accountability.
• Manage workload and complete tasks in a timely manner. Lead and supervise.

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
• The preferred candidate shall have a Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field, be certified by the Behavioral Analyst Certification Board, possess a current license by the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiner and have experience working with persons diagnosed with developmental disabilities and individuals across he lifespan who exhibit severe challenging behaviors.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Employee shall have a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1968 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults.
• Successfully pass background and reference check; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the Agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

• Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Child Protective Services Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459.

Retirement:
