Job Duties:
  • Orders, receives, stores, inventories and distributes supplies, materials and equipment
  • Checks incoming items for quantity/quality with respect to requisitions/specifications and ships canceled and damaged items back to vendors as appropriate
  • Delivers items in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Monitors/maintains stock levels and ensures items are properly stored and rotated
  • Updates inventory control system and ensures that storeroom is operated in compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Maintains the storeroom in a neat and orderly manner
  • Establishes and maintains records, files, and documents
  • Attends Staff meetings and provides information regarding inventory
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Principles, practices, and procedures of store keeping, including receiving, storage, and inventory control
  • Special storage requirements for certain materials/supplies
  • Basic record keeping/report preparation procedures
  • Stores/warehousing safety practices and procedures

Skills in:

  • Verbal and written communication
  • Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships at all organizational levels
  • Time management
  • Organization
  • Operating specialized store/warehouse equipment

Ability to:

  • Learn and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures that govern the agency, section and work unit
  • Learn and apply state procurement guidelines and procedures
  • Maintain inventory records and controls
  • Check incoming items against appropriate documents
  • Project material, supply and equipment needs based on past usage and anticipated changes
Selective Preference(s):

Two years of experience working in warehousing and storage operations

Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment
  • Ability to obtain and retain a valid DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Current Negative Tb skin test (Mantoux skin test) within the last 6 months or a written statement from a physician, physician’s assistant or a registered nurse practitioner indicating freedom from tuberculosis, if in the past has had a positive skin test or tuberculosis

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements.
