Job Summary: |
Under the guidance of the Human Resources Director this position serves as a Program Manager of the Family Campout Program. This position is responsible for planning, developing, analyzing, and expanding the family campout program. This is a program that introduces camping and outdoor recreational adventures to families that have little or no experience enabling them to broaden their enjoyment in the outdoors and camping for years to come. Provide general and educational information to camp participants regarding camping; environmental issues; natural, cultural and personal safety; and how to be good stewards in preserving our natural resources.
this position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties: |
Set-up registration process through the Reservation Software system. Process all registrants for each campout event. Communicate with each family regarding packing tips, gear to be provided and gear required. Collect and record all documentation and required forms; respond to all inquiries and questions prior to the scheduled event.
Supervises Family Campout Program to include development of standard work, policies, procedures, program budget, and tracking of statistics and strategic plan data.
Works closely with the coordinators to oversee and assist with the onboarding of Family Campout Volunteers, plan and organize Family Campout events to showcase each park's unique features. Prepare event schedule, while coordinating Family Campout Coordinator's. Continually analyze and research new methods, participates in campout events, conferences, training, or workshops to develop interpretive programs and regular programs to incorporate into these event that emphasize safety, fun, respect, and etiquette.
Coordinate publicity campaign with the marketing team utilizing various media outlets (television and radio), and social media.
Network with both corporate and private donors who will support the program through the donation of goods and monies. Identify supply needs based on campers and volunteers.

Knowledge of:
Applicable program regulations and Park rules and regulations.
Basic construction – electrical, carpentry, and plumbing; Vehicle operation, towing and maintenance;
Basic use of hand tools and power tools;

Selective Preference(s): |
A bachelor's degree in Park Management, Natural Resources Management, Recreation, Education, or closely related field. and/or
5 or more years of experience in park operations or interpretive elated field.
Pre-Employment Requirements: |
Must possess and maintain a current Arizona Driver's license appropriate to assignment. Require certification verifying completion of OHV Safety program within 6 months of hire.
