The DES, Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Information Technology Senior Project Manager with the Systems & Automation Administration. This position is responsible for coordinating with and managing a variety of projects and resolving escalated issues, managing complex client concerns raised during the project life cycle, and engaging in analytical assessment services to help drive decision making.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Build and maintain strong relationships and act as a trusted advisor with businesses, internal teams, end-users, and solution providers to ensure the governance, processes, tools and metrics are in place and/or are followed to support the environment and meet business needs.
- Consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness. Ensure solutions conform to DES and Industry standards, are documented, kept current, and keep pace with business demands. Present to stakeholders the project health at regular intervals based on communication plans. Contribute to the PMO body of knowledge.
- Assemble, coordinate, and manage project teams; create and manage project schedules; assign responsibilities and distribute tasks, set project goals and milestones; provide guidance as needed.
- Oversee project phases, track progress, and monitor performance against the project plan; ensure project deliverables are produced on time.
- Identify and document potential project risks and issues, assess their impact, and develop mitigation strategies.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge in:
- Working knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management.
- Considerable knowledge of interrelationships among various internal & external organizational functions.
- The impact of statutory regulations, industry standards, best practices for effective planning, budgeting, communications, risk management, vendor management and project execution.

Skills in:
- Interpersonal, written and oral communication.
- Collaborating with multiple business teams and external stakeholders to leverage on experience for delivery of products.
- Interacting with business partners to define business deliverables to support the project(s).

Ability to:
- Build strong relationships inside and outside the organization.
- Develop organization wide communication plans in sync with project stage and deliverables.
- Manage conflicting needs and priorities to guide management with options and recommendations.

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) or more years of experience in project coordination and management (or equivalent experience).

- Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Retirement:

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
