The Department of Economic Security, Division of Benefits and Medical Eligibility, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Business Intelligence Analyst Senior for the Family Assistance Administration (FAA) Systems team. Under minimal supervision, performs the most complex, cross-functional/enterprise-wide tasks/solutions at an expert level. Serves as a lead to perform data analysis, data mining, design, development, testing activities, and execution of complex custom reports to achieve strategic objectives and goals, and is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SSIS, SSRS, SQL, Visual Basic, Tableau, etc. Lead technologist on all facets of projects/pilots (develop Work Plan, schedule, monitor, etc.) for design or enhancements to the system/reports.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

| Job Duties: |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design and develop complex custom reports including coding in Tableau, SSIS, or other technology solutions which may require writing SQL and "Run Book" documentation to support design. Record work related activities in an operating system and/or place documents in the appropriate drive following system processes and procedures.
- SME for SSIS, SSRS, SQL, Visual Basic, Tableau Developer, MS Access, and new technology platforms, dimensional and relational database design to manage full life-cycle development and deployment. Perform data analysis, data mining, design, development, and execution of complex custom reports ensuring consistency and applicability to achieve established strategic objectives and goals.
- Serves as a lead technologist on all facets of projects and/or pilots (develop Work Plan, monitor, schedule, etc.) working collaboratively with analyst on design, business requirements, make recommendations to enhance performance and usability, and ensure timely and successful completion.
- Write and/or provide input for requirements, tools, framework, and mechanisms for data analytics working closely with Analyst and End User ensuring successful integration between Business Intelligence environment and business requirements.
- Participate in planning and oversee full aspects of development, testing activities, maintenance, and deployment of custom reports using various business intelligence software tools, investigate and recommend new technology platforms, and ensure are in compliance with data stewardship and data governance activities.
- Analyze performance for process improvement of existing systems and standards, assist in the maintenance ensuring deliverables meet development and security standards, and research new technologies that may add value across the division. Develop and/or review test plans, monitor testing activities, ensure results are adequately tested and validated, and create system documentation.
- Design and deliver end-user training and/or associated materials to technical and non-technical audiences. Attend, participate in, and may lead meetings. May participate in the development of short and long-term planning for appropriate information technology infrastructure, applications, and related systems. May temporarily lead a team when necessary.

| Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
Knowledge of:
- Service Level Agreement (SLA); laws, rules, security policies, privacy, data confidentiality management.
- Engineering workflow, IT lifecycle, and system design, performance tuning, and Business Intelligence tools.
- Statistical and business analysis, research, and analytical processes and methodologies.
- Multiple Business Intelligence software applications (SQL, Tableau, Visual Basic, SSRS, SPSS, etc.) and multidimensional and relational database design.
- Project management concepts, principles, and practices.
- English language for sentence structure, composition, content, spelling, and grammar.
Skill in:
- Multidimensional and relational data modeling and database design.
- Problem-solving and negotiation skills to resolve complex issues.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills to write and communicate complex, conceptual, and technical and non-technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
- Working skills and use of Business Intelligence (BI) software (SQL, SPSS, SSIS, SSRS, Tableau, Visual Basic, MS Access, etc.)
- Analysis, design review, troubleshooting, implementation, and integration for applications.
- Proficient in the manipulation of reports and analysis of enterprise data.
Ability to:
- Write requirements, diagram business processes and workflows, entity relationships, translate into technical solutions and reports, develop and execute queries and view objects, and present in a meaningful format.
- Work at least 40 hours per week and maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standards.

- Analyze data, develop and execute queries and reports, and proficiently manipulate data.

| Selective Preference(s): |
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management or a closely related field, and 3 years of experience in a business intelligence or data analysis role.
| Pre-Employment Requirements: |
- Employee shall obtain and maintain a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1969.
