The Arizona Game and Fish Department is seeking a Marketing Project Manager who is energized by outdoor recreation and motivated to use marketing as a powerful tool for outreach and connection. In this role, you’ll manage marketing initiatives from planning through execution—developing content strategies, coordinating campaigns, and keeping projects on track to engage audiences across the department's programs. What You’ll Do
As a Marketing Project Manager, you will lead and manage a portfolio of projects that support Marketing and Public Affairs Branch strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include project planning, content strategy development, campaign and project execution, and performance evaluation.
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead and manage small- to medium-sized marketing projects; assist with larger, more complex initiatives under the direction of the Customer Development and Engagement Director.
• Monitor project timelines and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
• Develop and maintain standard work tools such as project request forms, content calendars, and project tracking logs.
• Ensure adherence to brand standards while promoting efficiency and consistency across projects.
• Track and allocate project resources and budgets.
• Participate in meetings, workshops, and conferences as needed.
The ideal candidate will bring:
• At least three (3) years of experience in marketing, project management, or a related field.
• A strong understanding of marketing terminology, timelines, and workflows (marketing background preferred but not required with strong project management experience).
• Experience working with advertising agencies, in-house marketing teams, or within a public-sector organization is highly desirable.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with experience managing projects from start to finish.

| Job Duties: |
The Project Manager Intermediate leads and manages a portfolio of projects, supporting Marketing and Public Affairs Branch strategic initiatives through project planning, content strategy development, campaign/project execution and evaluation. Is responsible for project plan development, obtaining project updates, and tracking and following-up on due dates/statuses.
Major responsibilities will include:
• Leads and manages a portfolio of small- to medium-sized projects or coordination efforts. Assists with larger more complex projects under the leadership of Customer Development and Engagement Director. Monitors project status to ensure deliverables are within estimated timelines and established budget.
• Supports cross-divisional projects by coordinating with and providing support to staff across the department to track and monitor agency goals and objectives as well as governor scorecard goals. Approaches important changes in priority and project feedback with a problem-solver attitude.
• Develops and maintains standard work (ie: project proposal request forms; content calendars; project status tracking logs; etc.) Ensures a firm commitment to brand standards, efficiency and consistency across all elements of a project.
• Tracks and monitors project budgets. Allocates project resources accordingly.
• Attends meetings, workshops and conferences as required for information gatherings or development purposes.
• Other duties as assigned.
This position may be available for remote work within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures, with a requirement to come into the office a minimum of 2 days each week at 5000 W. Carefree Hwy. Phoenix, AZ 85086.

The candidate will have knowledge of/in: both theoretical and practical aspects of project management, project management standards, tools and processes, marketing, work management platforms, copywriting fundamentals, building interrelationships among various internal and external organizational functions, Arizona wildlife species and habitats, Arizona geography and ecology.
The candidate must have skill in: Strong project management skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, short- and long-form copywriting skills, critical thinking and innovation skills, organization and problem solving skills, strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, strong customer service attitude and skills, strong conflict management skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills.
The candidate must have the ability to/in: create and monitor production schedules, manage project statuses and meet deadlines, evaluate work processes and work products, manage multiple projects and priorities, meet deadlines, utilize work management platforms, effectively communicate both verbally and non-verbally, develop effective copywriting that adheres to relevant voice and tone, think strategically, plan ahead, and prioritize projects, adapt to changing priorities, analyze and resolve problems, take initiative and make decisions, work effectively with executive leadership, internal and external customers, propose and justify budget requests.
| Selective Preference(s): |
The preferred candidate will have at least three (3) years of experience with marketing project management. The preferred candidate will have a bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications or a related field.
