Job Summary:

• This position will primarily be responsible for collaboration and coordination of OIE events, marketing, communication, partnerships, reports, project-related documentation, listserv, and website management.
• Occasional in-state and rare out-of-state travel is required for this position.

The Arizona Department of Education (ADE) currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.

Job Duties:

• Facilitate planning, coordination, organization, and execution of OIE events, workshops, trainings, and communication
• Monitor project timelines and deadlines ensuring milestones are met
• Prepare and distribute project-related documentation and reports
• Develop, facilitate, and evaluate professional learning focused on communication systems
• Collaborate and build supportive relationships/partnerships with other ADE units and external stakeholders to coordinate technical assistance, professional development, and alignment of resources for families, schools, and districts
• Facilitate internal and external collaboration and meetings with stakeholders, including tribal entities, educational institutions, and government agencies
• Plan and coordinate marketing materials and distribution internally and externally
• Manage OIE listservs
• Coordinate and organize OIE website updates
• Other duties as assigned as related to the position

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge in:
• Concepts of project and event planning
• Basic administrative procedures
• Experience organizing and coordinating meetings
• Format and develop reports
• Knowledge of Tribal, local, state, and federal governments
• Cultural literacy on Tribal Nations and their educational history
• Graphic design programs
• Knowledge of K-12 educational systems
• A bachelor’s degree in education, a related field, or equivalent experience to substitute for the degree, is required

Skills in:
• Strong oral and written communication to convey a wide variety of information to diverse audiences
• Strong inter-personal communication and emotional intelligence
• Team collaboration-establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships
• Intermediate to advanced skill in Microsoft Outlook, Work, Excel, and Internet browser
• Excellent organization and time management

Ability to:
• Media support such as marketing, website, social sites, and newsletters
• Understand the "big picture" in a project while simultaneously being detail-oriented
• Multi-task, to meet urgent/critical deadlines
• Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Identify issues, analyze information, and propose solutions independently or collaboratively
• Prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain attention to detail

Selective Preference(s):

Preference will be given to those applicants with a master’s degree in education or a related field.

Retirement:

You will be required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) upon your 27th week of employment, subject to waiting period. On or shortly after, your first day of employment you will be provided with enrollment instructions and effective date.
