Job Summary:

Working in the MVD Level 3 Support Center, the Business Specialist provides useful communication to MVD internal support groups to allow for fast, informative updates to MVD materials (One Source, Huddle slides, Standard work, websites, etc.). This position acts as a liaison between system users, Level 2 Support, ITG/MAX team, and MVD training/Communication to ensure that business needs are well defined and captured in system documentation. This position continuously improves processes and standard work by conferring with internal teams, other divisions, and MVD business units to clarify information and resolve problems by providing excellent customer service. This position may also be required to travel, including overnight trips.

Job Duties:

Analyze problems reported by MVD business and stakeholders, test system performance compared to business need, write business requirements for developers, and test enhancements and fixes.

Provide usable information to the MVD custodians of policy, procedure, MVD One Source, forms, standard work, website information, etc. to allow those sources of information to remain current and accurate at all times.

Apply AMS Continuous Improvement activities and use AMS problem solving and other AMS standard work to continuously improve the team's processes in a learning environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
• Methodologies/techniques for systems analysis and design, business process modeling - requirements gathering, quality, and technology.
• MVD rules, policies, and procedures related to drivers’ license, identification credentials, and vehicles.
• State and Federal transportation law, and transportation industry and business management.
• Some MVD systems (e.g. MAX, SalesForce, MCarrier, SAZ, etc.).

Skills in:
• Strong customer service skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral (formal and plain language) communication.
• Interpersonal relationship skills.
• AMS Problem Solving skills.
• Analytical skills to evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, consolidate details, and extract to functional requirements.
• Google workspace.

• Learn and retain knowledge of MVD business needs and navigate MVD systems.

Selective Preference(s):

Customer Service experience; post high school education, experience testing systems.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Valid Arizona Driver's License
Background and fingerprint clearance required.

Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
