Posting Details:

Annual Salary Range: $70,000 - $77,000 

This position will remain open until business needs are met  

Position Duties Summary:

• Review subgrantee budgets, invoices and contract materials for compliance with applicable grant, federal and state regulations and guidelines

• Solve daily problems and make independent decisions based on information gathered and research conducted

• Participate in grant planning and re-allocation discussions to ensure effective usage of grant resources

• Provide fiscal oversight from start to finish for multiple Federal funding sources

• Conduct monitoring visits and provide technical assistance to subgrantees

• Research and provide guidance on federal rules and regulations

• Prepare and present forecasts of grant and subgrantee spending

• Draft timly correspondence to key stakeholders and subgrantees

• Any duties necessary to ensure effective funds management

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field and/or equivalent job-related experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge:

• Federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and policies related to public programs

• Principles and practices of accounting, auditing and internal controls

Skills:

• Computer skills to properly obtain and analyze financial information

• Analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation

• Intermediate skill in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access

• Interpreting statutes, rules, policies, and procedures

• Excellent oral and written communication

• Research and analysis techniques

• Time management

• Problem solving

Ability:

• Examine and analyze records, reports, operating practices, and documentation techniques

• Analyze quantitative and qualitative data and produce summary reports of findings

• Monitor compliance with federal grant regulations, state procedures, and controls

• Work on projects for extended periods without direct supervision

• Can work in a flexible, team oriented environment

• Adapt to changing conditions

Selective Preference(s):

Preference will be given to those applicants with:

• Progressively more responsible accounting and/or auditing or similar work experience

• Prior knowledge of federal or state grants management processes

• A combination of formal education and work experience

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.)

• Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment
