| Job Duties: |
In this role, you will assist with sun cancer prevention educational activities, including:
- Disseminating sun safety education via in-person and remote presentations.
- Distributing sun safety resources and materials via in-person outreach events and via mail.
- Conducting sun safety education effectiveness assessments
- Reviewing and summarizing published literature about topics related to sun safe and skin cancer prevention behaviors.
- Growing the reach of the SunWise program by expanding the network of educational partners.
You will also support the climate and weather program by:
- Sourcing, researching, and evaluating the newest tools, studies, and educational materials related to extreme weather and heat safety.
- Reviewing website pages for accuracy and suggesting content updates with fresh resources.
- Organizing existing climate health assets to maintain an evidence-based, community focused, and intuitive resource repository.
- Actively participating in ongoing initiatives, with a primary focus on supporting the development and execution of our School Heat Guidance project.
- You will be coached and mentored by the SunWise program coordinator, the heat relief coordinator, and/or others on the team by collaborating with them on group projects.
| Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
- Strong verbal and communication skills.
- Willing to provide educational presentations to large groups of participants of various ages and educational backgrounds.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn science of skin cancer prevention concepts.
- Time management, organization, planning and problem solving skills.
- Ability to observe and follow procedures accurately.
- Ability to research, synthesize, and organize information efficiently.
- Interest in extreme weather, climate health impacts, or environmental safety principles.
- Experience applying health literacy frameworks or plain-language guidelines to public-facing content and presentations.

Working towards a degree and strong desire to develop beyond the classroom.
Experience with Canva or other visual content tools.
Comfortable with large group presentations, with an engaging personality.
