This position is provisional and funded by ERESA. Its renewal is dependent on continued ERESA funding.

The successful candidate will teach high school students in a college setting through the Eaton County RESA. This faculty member will teach courses in Manufacturing Engineering Technologies (MET) consistent with the evolving state of the discipline and accepted trends in teaching methods. A solid understanding of the machine tool field as well as mechanical technologies is desired, including but is not limited to: manual and CNC machining, CNC programming, CAD/CAM/solid modeling, metrology and inspection tools and machine tool maintenance/repair. It is preferred that the faculty member has a strong knowledge base with Heat Treatment, high-speed machining, experience with CNC programming.

The faculty member will share responsibilities with current full-time faculty for the organization and functionality of the MET Program. Strong communication skills and computer proficiency are a must. The faculty member will participate in program/department meetings and divisional/college-wide committees, with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. He/she will also participate in curriculum and course development, course and program coordination, tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and College initiatives. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy

This faculty member will also attend Eaton County RESA in-service meetings, conduct student progress meetings with parents, maintain up-to-date State of Michigan curriculum quality documents (TRAC/CIP), attend award ceremonies, attend Manufacturing Engineering Technology program faculty meetings and meet requirements/responsibilities for full-time faculty per LCC-MAHE contract agreement. This is a weekday position that aligns with the Eaton County RESA academic school calendar. Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Technologies/related field and two (2) years recent, relevant work experience, OR Associate’s Degree in Manufacturing Technologies/related degree and four (4) years recent, relevant work experience, OR Journey status in a manufacturing trade and four (4) years recent/relevant work experience, OR High School Diploma and eight (8) years recent/relevant documented work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Instructional teaching experience in post-secondary education.
• Bachelor's Degree with course work related to manufacturing.
• Experience in manual machine tools, metrology, and layout.
• Experience with CNC programming with Mastercam
