Louisiana Delta Community College is seeking a dynamic and student-focused Instructor of Biology to join our Division of Natural Sciences. The ideal candidate will be committed to high-quality instruction, student success, and continuous improvement in teaching and learning. This full-time faculty position is responsible for teaching a variety of courses in Biological Sciences. Teaching responsibilities may include Human Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, Pathophysiology, Zoology, Genetics, Nutrition, and General Biology for both science majors and non-science majors, along with all associated biology laboratories. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the position involves laboratory preparation and oversight, including inventory management, acquisition of supplies, and the proper storage and disposal of biohazard and microbiological waste. Courses may be delivered in traditional full-semester formats, accelerated sessions, or online modalities. Faculty are expected to teach in a variety of formats, including face-to-face, hybrid, and fully online lecture and lab courses. Experience in developing online content and virtual labs is highly valued. Faculty must demonstrate effective instructional practices, use diverse teaching methods, and evaluate student learning through measurable outcomes to support program-level assessment.
