Assistant Professor of Classics in Stanford University
The Department of Classics at Stanford University seeks applicants for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor in Greek Language and Literature, with specialization either in Greek prose of the Classical era, or Greek literature of the Hellenistic or Imperial periods. Ability to teach courses in one or more of the following areas is a desired additional skill: epigraphy, papyrology, paleography, textual criticism, comparative-historical linguistics, ancient religion. The candidate will be expected to teach and advise students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, and must hold a PhD in Classics by the start of the term of appointment (September 1, 2027).
