Help shape the future of children in our care

As a Policy Advisor, you will be responsible for developing and reviewing the C&K service operations policy library, coordinating the entire process to ensure compliance and consistency. This role involves providing comprehensive policy advice, support, and practical information to educators, service directors, managers, and other personnel, while also developing resources and facilitating training to ensure adherence to policies and regulations. You will support effective communication, collaborate with stakeholders, and actively seek feedback to implement strategies that deliver high-quality early childhood services and programs.

As a Policy Advisor, you’ll enjoy a dynamic part-time role, working Monday to Thursday on a fixed-term contract through December 13th, 2024 at the Kedron office.

You’ll help us shape the future of children in our care by:

  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of C&K policy, the Education and Care Services National Regulations and Law (2011), the National Quality Framework, and best practices in early childhood education and care.
  • Assisting other C&K departments with policy development and review as required.
  • Implementing the C&K Policy Framework and demonstrating an understanding of best practices related to policy development and review.
  • Ensuring C&K policy reflects the Education and Care Services National Regulations and Law (2011), National Quality Standards, best practices, and C&K strategy and needs, while leading and participating in projects as directed.
  • Implementing strategies that support open communication and consultation with relevant parties regarding the effectiveness of C&K’s service operations policies.
  • Developing resources and implementing strategies that promote a sound understanding, effective communication, and compliance with C&K policy.
  • Providing regular, clear, and effective information and communication regarding policy development and review, such as contributing to eNews, the C&K Intranet, and other C&K publications and communication methods.

What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Hold an ACECQA approved Diploma early childhood qualification or higher. A bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Significant (min. of 5yrs) early childhood education and care sector experience. Leadership/management experience preferred.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Word.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication including proven ability to develop and facilitate training.
  • Highly organised and demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate collaborative discussion and reflection.
  • Demonstrated understanding of early childhood education and care practice and operations, Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, the National Quality Framework and current early childhood education and care best practice, frameworks and guidelines.
