The Positive Behaviour Guidance Coach supports children’s access and engagement through case management, assessment, and collaborative partnerships with families, staff, and external agencies. It involves psychoeducational assessments, maintaining confidential records, contributing to policy reviews, and delivering professional development to enhance inclusive practices and ensure high-quality, child-focused educational support within C&K services.

You’ll help us shape the future of children in our care by:
- Providing face-to-face, evidence-based support for teachers and educators to build knowledge and practical skills in specialist behaviour support
- Enhancing and develop educators’ professional toolkit for understanding the function of, and strategies to, positively guide a range of behaviours, including those that are complex, trauma related, or indicative of developmental conditions.
- Working with C&K Central teams to ensure the current ‘Interactions with children’ policy and strategic documents related to quality improvement across Quality Areas 1, 5 and 7, reflect best practice.

What you’ll bring
If you’re committed to guiding children’s early learning and development, we’ll set you up for success!
We strongly uphold our child safety policies and procedures. To thrive and succeed in this role, you will have:
- ACECQA approved bachelor’s degree in early childhood
- And one of the following:
- Completed coursework Masters, majoring in guidance and counselling, or an equivalent completed coursework Masters including study in the areas of psychoeducational assessment, counselling and mental health OR
- General or provisional registration as a psychologist through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Psychology Board OR
- an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited four- or five-year qualification in psychology, that at the time of completion, would enable general registration as a psychologist following completion of a board approved internship or accredited sequence of study.
- Highly desirable:
- • A minimum of two (2) years full-time, or equivalent, Early Childhood teaching experience
- • Current membership of the Queensland Guidance and Counselling Association (QGCA)
- Valid Blue Card or Exemption Card.
- Current Police Check
