Join C&K, where the safety and wellbeing of children is at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Child Protection & Safeguarding Lead to champion safe practices and ensure every child in our care is protected, supported, and able to thrive.

As part of the C&K Leadership Team, you’ll lead and support safeguarding practices across services, providing guidance to teams, responding to concerns, and ensuring compliance with child protection legislation and organisational policies. You’ll be a trusted leader who helps build a strong culture of safety, awareness, and accountability.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and review C&K’s safeguarding framework, policies, and systems
  • Develop and implement organisation-wide safeguarding strategies and processes
  • Provide expert advice to senior leaders and executive management on child protection matters
  • Conduct risk assessments, review incidents, and recommend improvements to strengthen safety across the organisation

What you’ll bring

You will bring extensive knowledge of Child Protection related legislation, regulations and best practice alongside a deep understanding of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Framework. Most importantly, you will bring proven experience putting that knowledge into practice within organisations on-the-ground, ideally at scale.

  • A relevant degree qualification in early childhood education, social work, psychology, welfare or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of the Child Safe Organisation principles and child protection system in Qld.
  • Experience in completing investigations or similar investigatory experience and knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly ascertain concerns for children’s safety and wellbeing to provide timely support and advice to contribute to decisions to ensure safety and wellbeing.
  • Valid Blue Card or Exemption Card.
  • Current Police Check
  • Completion of the National Child Safety Training – Foundation Certificate
