About the role:

We have an opportunity for an experienced Human Resources / People and Culture Business Partner to join our national HR team based at our new site in Alexandria. As the successful candidate, you will be a resilient and enthusiastic individual with strong generalist (HR) human resources, (IR) industrial relations, (ER) employee relations skills & experience.  The role will be supporting the HR Operations for Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia from our head office in Sydney.

You will work within a dynamic and successful team with a passion for people (and having fun) and with the support of a strong management structure. You will be responsible for supporting the people strategy across our national business, providing sound HR advice and support to managers to improve performance and develop team capabilities, with exposure to all facets of the HR life cycle.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide expert advice based on a strong understanding of employment law and our HR policies
  • Provide coaching and support to managers to ensure they carry out people management effectively and fairly
  • Working with all stakeholders to ensure that we manage industrial relations effectively
  • Support with the negotiation of enterprise agreements as required
  • Provide interpretation of the terms of the Agreements
  • Coordinate performance and development objective setting process to ensure they are completed on time and in line with organisational goals, utilising Success Factors
  • Provide advice, assistance and training to the business on performance management and development issues to ensure fair processes are carried out at all times.

What we are looking for:

  • Degree qualifications in HR, IR, Employment Law or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of post-degree work experience in a related role.
  • Prior experience in Construction, Service / Maintenance, Heavy Industrial or Manufacturing industries will be highly regarded.
  • SAP HR module experience or similar system highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of industrial relations, unions and Australian employment legislation with demonstrated experience across unionised workforces.
  • Skilled at coaching managers throughout all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
  • Passion for helping employees be the best version of themselves.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
