About the role:

We have an opportunity for a Purchasing Officer to join our national Supply Chain team based in Alexandria and reports directly to the Procurement Manager for local material and services. The role will manage the procurement processes and vendor governance. This includes, but not limited to, responsibility for Schindler Lifts Australia's Fleet Operations, Facilities Management, and Uniforms & PPE sourcing and supply and general other procurement administration tasks.

You will oversee the process from Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and vendor performance alignment with Schindler's standards for sustainability, cost-efficiency, and brand compliance.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of company fleet vehicles
  • Maintain control of fleet whereabouts, utilisation and lifecycle status.
  • Oversee national facility services, including rent contracts, utilities, waste disposal, and building compliance.
  • Liaise with landlords, councils, and service vendors
  • Operate the national Uniforms and PPE program.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with branding guidelines, stock availability, and service levels.
  • Manage demand forecasts and procurement cycles for field and office-based personnel.
  • Maintain and govern vendor master data for Fleet, Facilities, Utilities, Uniforms & PPE among other material and service suppliers
  • Ensure timely and accurate purchase order processing, cost allocation, and approval workflows.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience in procurement operations, preferably in facilities, fleet, or indirect material & services.
  • Experience managing multiple vendor relationships and contract execution.
  • Working Experience in SAP MM ERP (MM or P2P functions) and indirect procurement cycles highly regarded
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset and procurement ethics.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong operational skills with SAP (POs, Purchase to Pay Cycle).
