Job Description:
This position provides academic advising for undergraduates in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, through the Student Services Office, specializing in advisement for students in Natural Sciences and Mathematics academic programs. This position also supports undergraduate enrollment, participates in the organization and implementation of various undergraduate student services in the Student Services Office, and assumes other administrative functions, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Computer literacy required
Communication and other skills:
• Excellent oral, written and electronic communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and without error
• Genuine interest in working with traditional and non-traditional students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
• Availability for some weekend and evening work
• High ethical standards and fairness
Preferred Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:
• Master’s degree preferred
• Degree in a Natural Sciences and Mathematics related program or similar field preferred
• College advising experience preferred
• Experience with Banner and Degree Audit or other comparable student records systems preferred
