Job Description:

The University of Toledo Judith Herb College of Arts, Social Sciences and Education is seeking a tenure track assistant professor of higher education with teaching and research strengths in areas surrounding higher education policy, finance, law, and governance and administration. A PhD in higher education or a field closely related to higher education is required. The successful candidate will have expertise in online instruction, including use of video conferencing platforms. Expertise in quantitative research methods will be preferred. Preference will also be given to a candidate with administrative/leadership experience and background in a K-12 system. The successful candidate will teach graduate courses in these and related areas, coordinate a graduate program, advise graduate students and chair dissertations, and develop a line of scholarly inquiry leading to publication in Higher Education or a related field. Additionally, the candidate is expected to collaborate within the program, the department, and the university in a wide range of related duties which may include program assessment, developing curriculum, recruiting, advising, and assisting with securing grants.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required qualifications include: a PhD degree in higher education or closely related field; teaching and research strengths in areas surrounding higher education policy, finance, law, and governance in higher education; and expertise in online instruction and video conferencing platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

Expertise in quantitative research methods. Administrative/leadership experience and background in a K-12 system.
