Job Description:

Responsible for directing and leading in a manner which promotes The University of Toledo’s mission, vision and values of teamwork, quality and service. Supports the overall mission of the institution and works to ensure a timely response to issues surrounding the completion of construction, maintenance and service completion and maintaining Joint Commission compliance. Communicating and interacting with various governmental agencies both at the State and Local level to accomplish this. Plan, direct, coordinate, and prepare budgets concerning construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems on the health science campus. Analyzes service contracts to consolidate service to the lowest possible cost with the best possible service. Unify managers and trades people into one frontline customer service resource for facilities and construction and provide excellence in customer service. This position works as an integral team member by providing support services to the Sr AVP for Administration, Facilities & Construction and Supply Chain.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or Sciences OR minimum 7 years’ experience in Facilities Maintenance Operations
• Must have minimum fifteen years’ experience in construction and/or construction project management.
• Must have fifteen years supervisory experience.
• Required Experience: thorough understanding of the construction delivery process, including construction contracting, project estimating and controls, physical plant operations, capital planning, and maintenance practices and procedures.
• Preferred Experience: Construction project estimating.
• Must have thorough knowledge and understanding regulations pertaining to Joint Commission compliance. Must have previous experience with Joint Commission Life Safety Inspections.
• Knowledge of major building systems, structural, mechanical and electrical

• Proficient with PC and various software packages including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, MS Project, a plus
