Job Description:

Under general supervision of the Deputy Athletic Director / CRO, the Assistant Athletic Director of Communications serves as the chief communications officer and official spokesperson for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position is responsible for setting and executing the department’s communications strategy, managing media relations, and protecting and enhancing the reputation of Toledo Athletics.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required with master’s degree preferred
Progressive experience in athletics communications, media relations, or public relations
Proven experience serving as a spokesperson or managing high-level media interactions excellent written, verbal, and crisis communication skills
Strong leadership and organizational abilities
Working knowledge of NCAA rules related to media and communications
