Manage the Departmental Office: Provide secretarial support to ensure a well functioning,orderly, timely and professional departmental office that supports the department chair, faculty, administrative staff, department staff, graduate students, undergraduates, college and university officials, visitors and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:
• High school diploma and 1 year office experience
• Associate’s Degree or higher and 3 years office experience preferred

Communication and other skills:
• Must be proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, and other standard office software
• Proficiency with Banner and Web Report Library, in particular experience using these to schedule courses for academic departments, preferred.
• Strong verbal and active listening skills, and a pleasant attitude toward students, staff, faculty, and the public are critical for this position
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, where needed
• Strong telephone and electronic communication skills
• Proficient secretarial and organizational skills
• Excellent technology skills for word processing, data entry, e-mail response and merging of data
• Must be technologically literate and able to learn new software programs
• Ability to take initiative and solve problems independently
• Commitment to teamwork with the department Chair, staff, faculty, and students to optimize departmental efficiency and foster a fair and friendly working environment
