As the technical and production lead, you will need to operate the technical aspects of shows, events, and other types of bookings and ensure all aspects of productions within the theaters are adhering to SCAD standards. Specific to SCADstory operations, in this position you are responsible for conducting daily start-up, end-of-day, and all technical maintenance, acting as the on-call technician for any troubleshooting that may occur during operating hours. You must be able to collaborate well with others to ensure proper setup and operations for all events, working to execute the overall installation, operation, and de-installation for all events. In this position you are the technical representative for SCADshow, SCAD COURT, and FORTY event space at meetings where you will present proposals based on your experience and expertise.
The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of PC/Windows-based computer software and an understanding of theatrical tech equipment. They must also be able to conduct regular inventory at all previously mentioned locations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or comparable work experience
- Two years of technical/production work experience in live events and/or theatrical productions
- Rigging, ETC lighting control systems, digital audio consoles and audio mixing, and digital cinema projection systems experience
- Understanding of production equipment and processes
- Ability to lift more than 50 pounds and work many nights and weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least two years of experience and/or training in technical maintenance of computerized lighting systems, audio and projection systems, and complex theatrical lighting fixture maintenance
- At least two years of experience and/or training with automated show systems including show control systems, audio systems, video systems, and projection systems
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
- Valid driver’s license

- Less than 10%
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
