As a math coach, you will support students both online and in person, emphasizing supplemental in-class learning. With oversight from the associate director of SCADextra, you will develop, prepare, and lead small and large workshops, one-on-one coaching, and other student learning programs. As part of these efforts, you will create videos, self-guided training modules, and other interactive content to be made available online to supplement math workshops, presentations, and coaching sessions. Using the university’s evaluation and assessment cycle, you will identify workshops and coaching content that need further development. You will collaborate with the associate director of SCADextra and math faculty to proactively reach out to students who may benefit from SCADextra programs and services.

In this position, you will be the main point of contact for the liberal arts department, connecting students to workshops, coaching, and more. You will coach peer mentors to ensure readiness and competency in providing math support to students, promote services via classroom visits, and assess TEDU student referral data to meet students’ needs/demands. You will work closely with SCADextra leadership and other departments to ensure that math programs and course content are aligned with student needs. You will oversee the recruitment and hiring process of math mentors — including work-study students — based on their qualifications. You also will manage an updated archive of all workshops, presentations, and coaching materials, and maintain accurate coaching records and data as directed. Records may be used for accreditation and institutional assessment purposes at any time. Additionally, you will serve as an ambassador for SCADextra, fostering a sense of teamwork and collaboration.

The successful candidate will have excellent time management, organization, and scheduling skills with a proficiency in written and verbal communication. The candidate should be exceptionally detail-oriented and possess a strong work ethic to meet expectations and deadlines. They also must be able to work well independently and as a collaborative member of a team. Demonstrating professionalism in all interactions and collaborating across various departments, locations, and learning modalities to ensure success for the university and its students are required.
