As a box office and events coordinator, you will ensure customers receive exceptional service at every level. Daily, you will answer phone calls and emails, process transactions, and sell tickets via Tessitura, the ticketing system. In preparation for events, you will enter event details into the website and ticketing system for ticket sales, maintaining sales and holds in Tessitura. You will support the upkeep of audience-facing web pages to include venue and parking information, maps, and general content for the theater. You will manage performance will call lists and ticket distribution, collaborate with the house manager to manage timing holds for seating and the show's start, and be the primary contact at events for patrons. You will also assist with ticketing kiosks, resolving issues, and enforcing theater policies.
During events, you will support SCADshow staff in a front-of-house (FOH) capacity, lead internal teams during and after the show, and maintain effective communication with the theater operations manager. You will conduct research for future programs and events across SCAD theaters and festivals, partnering with the creative team to send proofs and request approvals for all collateral and marketing materials. You will also manage SCADshow's social media pages and contribute to the cleanliness of FOH spaces, including the lobbies, restrooms, and concession stands.
The successful candidate will know about advertising practices, including social media and traditional and non-traditional methods. The candidate should be familiar with the Tessitura ticketing software and know about marketing arts and cultural events. The candidate should be highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, and have solid computer skills. A background in customer service is necessary to thrive in this role.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a field related field
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Proficient with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Canva, or other design software; Microsoft Office and Google Suite; and Instagram and other social platforms
- At least one to three years of experience in a comparable position or related field, including box office and house management at a theater, festival, or entertainment venue
Travel Required:
- Less than 10%
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
