As a student success coordinator, you will assist the office of the dean of students in managing daily situations involving students, families, and staff. You will work with the dean to gather information from students to oversee alternative attendance processes and student requests in the database. You will provide support at orientation, recruitment events, and university-sponsored festivals, collaborating with student involvement for the annual COAR awards ceremony. You will assist with agendas, room arrangements and setups, and other meeting-related needs. Additionally, you will manage first-year housing exemption requests, maintain a log of potential missing student reports, and oversee the Atlanta locker system. Moreover, you will supervise a team of student success assistants in the student success department, which includes hiring and training, approving timesheets, and creating schedules.
In this position, you will manage the dean of students’ calendar, conduct research, and provide background information to prepare for meetings. You will oversee the dean of students’ email account, coordinate the logistical needs for student successes, and submit work orders. You will ensure that the office kitchen and break room inventories are stocked and manage the on-call manager schedule, distributing it regularly. Additionally, you will process purchase requests and approvals, submit e-commerce requests, and complete Concur expense reports.
The successful candidate should have a background in working with diverse populations, a demonstrated understanding of customer service, and knowledge of information management systems and web-based technology. They should be able to maintain a student-centered focus and pay close attention to their presentation through dress and conduct. Strong communication, presentation, organization, and project management skills are necessary to thrive in this role.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a strong work history in a relevant field
- At least two years’ experience in student activities within a university setting
- Experience using housing and judicial databases such as Banner for maintenance of budgets
Travel required:
- Less than 10%
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
