As a University Safety field operations manager, you will be responsible for the daily operational planning, coordination, and oversight of a field operations program team with select static posts and patrol capabilities at SCAD Savannah. This position will report directly to the director of University Safety. Your team of six to 10 professionally trained safety officers operate in different assignments related to foot patrols, vehicular patrols, static post assignments, and bicycle patrols within the SCAD geography.
In this role, you will identify and utilize best practices to protect the SCAD community, implementing innovative, all-encompassing safety and security services. You will refine and redefine internal standards for your team, as well as promote job knowledge that enhances university safety. You influence will be both internal and external as you engage with other university managers and law enforcement officials on operational and policy matters.
The ideal candidate will leverage their professional planning and oversight skills to special events at SCAD Savannah, which will continually require development, maintenance, and implementation of evolving crime prevention programs in the interest of the SCAD community. The candidate will also continually and actively engage with law enforcement agencies during criminal investigations and assessments.
Minimum qualifications:
- Four years of security, military, or law enforcement experience
- Two years of management experience
- Extensive experience developing and establishing patrol and staffing programs
- Demonstrated knowledge of university-specific compliance requirements (Clery Act, Violence Against Women Act, Title IX)
Preferred qualifications:
- Threat assessment certification
- Special event assessment certification
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
- Valid driver’s license
- U.S. passport or ability to obtain a U.S. passport within the first six months of employment for international travel
Travel required: 10–20%
Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
