As an assistant director of admission, you will manage a caseload for your assigned territory (the U.S.), focusing on strategically aligned high schools and boarding schools. You will travel extensively to represent SCAD to prospective students while fostering ongoing professional and institutional relationships. This includes participating in school-specific initiatives, hosting information sessions, and engaging in other recruitment events. Responsibilities include prospective student follow-ups via phone or email to discuss their interests and inquiries, as well as participation in LivePerson or online chat sessions to reach students throughout the admission cycle. You will also review and evaluate application files to ensure their completeness and adherence to admission requirements.
In this role, you will deliver engaging presentations that use storytelling techniques to showcase SCAD's programs, spaces, and resources to diverse audiences during school visits, ensuring they fully understand the options and opportunities available at SCAD. You will provide personalized admission counseling to prospective students and their families throughout the application and enrollment process, maintain accurate records of recruitment activities in relevant databases and systems, and promptly enter planned, confirmed, and completed events. Additionally, you will proactively communicate with potential students and manage active applicant files, including document tracking. As an assistant director of admission, you must remain knowledgeable about all university policies and procedures to convey accurate information about the university.
The ideal candidate demonstrates exemplary interpersonal, communication, and task prioritization skills to engage diverse audiences. The candidate works well independently and is passionate about art and design education, showing genuine enthusiasm for promoting SCAD's mission and values.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Ability to travel extensively (20 weeks in the fall and 12–15 weeks in the spring)
- Proficient in computer databases and office productivity software
- Willing to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous experience in college admissions, student recruitment, or a related field
- Experience with Banner and Salesforce
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid passport
Travel required: More than 50%
Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
