As a professor for SCADpro, the university’s boutique creative consultancy, you will prepare students for real-world assignments and high-performance collaboration through insightful lectures, presentations, and diverse case studies. Through courses such as PRO 540, PRO 560, and PRO 580, students will participate in collaborative exercises to expand their dialogue, discoveries, and collaboration skills and techniques. In PRO 540, you will guide students as they refine their communication, management, adaptive thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities through cross-disciplinary partnerships with peers. In this course, you will aid students in their research, development, and concepting of innovative solutions for design challenges and user-centered products, services, and systems. While focusing mainly on user-centered research for business insights in PRO 560, in PRO 580, you will assist students with contextual research, product conceptualization and development, and prototyping to enhance their ability to create compelling outcomes and engaging interactive experiences that meet specific user requirements from various industry partners.
In this role, you will adhere to all duties and expectations outlined in the SCAD Faculty Handbook, including coursework preparation, syllabus design and approval, office hours, midterm grade reviews, and more. Among other responsibilities, you will provide students with extra help sessions, extended learning opportunities, and field trips outside of regular class hours. Additionally, you will model professionalism, fulfill all grading and academic documentation requirements, and record attendance. You will assist with all academic assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts. Occasionally, you may be asked to support departmental and university-wide initiatives by attending in-person and virtual events, such as faculty councils, admission activities, accreditation support, curriculum development, and exhibitions, among others. Professors must fulfill teaching assignments determined by contact hours as specified in the Employment Agreement.

Minimum qualifications:
- Degree in interactive design, HCI, human factors, graphic design, industrial design, service design, design management, user experience, or a related field
- Experience in or knowledge of related professions
Preferred qualifications:
- Teaching experience at the collegiate level
Travel required:
- Less than 10%
